some device recently had a falling sensor.
how’d it work? simple check for gravity with a small spring on a weight. if there is gravity the spring is closing the ciricuit. while falling, gravity inside the sensor is close to zero and the circuit is opened – a clear sign of imminent impact. most things don’t fall much longer than a few fractions of a second.
